Services

I provide individual psychotherapy for adults (18+) throughout California via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I offer a supportive space for individuals seeking help with emotional, relational, and life experiences that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to navigate alone. Therapy is a collaborative and reflective process grounded in care, curiosity, and respect for each person's unique history, values, and pace.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a dedicated space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of thoughts, emotions, patterns, and experiences that may be impacting your well-being or sense of self. Sessions are individualized to support greater insight, emotional regulation, self-understanding, and meaningful change over time.

The course of therapy is shaped collaboratively and adjusted based on clinical need and treatment goals.

Areas of Clinical Focus

My work often includes support related to, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Chronic anxiety and stress

  • Trauma and adverse life experiences

  • Life transitions and identity exploration

  • Relationship and attachment patterns

  • Emotional regulation

  • Self-esteem

  • Body image concerns

  • Grief and loss

  • Depressive symptoms

  • Burnout, perfectionism, and academic or professional stress (including college and graduate students)

This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether your concerns are a good fit, a brief consultation can help clarify next steps.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I may incorporate tools from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) depending on each individual’s needs and goals.

Over time, many people begin to notice that their current ways of thinking, feeling, relating, or coping have been shaped by earlier experiences and important relationships. For this reason, I also work from a developmental and trauma-informed perspective, where we may explore earlier life experiences and how they continue to influence current patterns, emotions, and beliefs.

I believe that every person seeking therapy is unique and deserves to be approached as such. I work from a multicultural lens, taking into account the many aspects of identity, background, and lived experience that shape who you are.

I prioritize creating an emotionally safe space where experiences can be explored with care and without pressure. Therapy is paced collaboratively and shaped by your goals, values, and readiness.

The aim of therapy is to support deeper insight, build practical coping skills, and foster a greater sense of agency in your life.

Format of Services

All therapy sessions are conducted exclusively through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform for adults who are physically located in California at the time of each session.

Telehealth provides a flexible and accessible way to receive therapy while maintaining the same standard of professional care. Sessions can be attended from a private location using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection.

Because I am licensed to practice psychology in California, clients must be physically located within California during each appointment.

Telehealth may not be appropriate for every individual or clinical situation. Its appropriateness is assessed on an ongoing basis throughout treatment, and when a different level or format of care is clinically indicated, referrals or other appropriate resources may be provided.

Telehealth services are provided in accordance with California law and professional standards.

Fees, Insurance, and Payment Options

Treatment typically begins with an initial assessment, followed by the collaborative development of treatment goals and ongoing evaluation throughout therapy. Session frequency (for example, weekly or biweekly) is determined based on your clinical needs and treatment goals.

Services are available through one of the following payment options:

Option 1: In-Network Insurance (Through Alma)

I accept select insurance plans through Alma. Alma manages insurance eligibility verification, claims submission, and billing on my behalf.

Insurance benefit verification is not a guarantee of payment or coverage. You remain financially responsible for applicable copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, non-covered services, and other amounts determined by your insurance carrier to be your financial responsibility.

Option 2: Private Pay

For clients who prefer not to use insurance, sessions are available on a private-pay basis.

Individual Psychotherapy (53-55 minutes)
$250 per session

Payment is due at the time of service.

Option 3: Out-of-Network Reimbursement (Superbill)

For clients paying privately who wish to seek potential out-of-network reimbursement, a superbill may be available for submission to their insurance plan. Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan and cannot be guaranteed.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions regarding fees or payment.

Please note: Late cancellation and missed appointment fees are $250 and are generally not covered by insurance. Please refer to the Cancellation Policy for additional details.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, health care providers must give clients who do not have insurance, or who choose not to use their insurance, an estimate of the expected cost of services. This is called a Good Faith Estimate.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the total expected cost of any non-emergency psychological services.

• You may request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, and you will receive one automatically when you schedule a service at least three business days in advance.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

• Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. To request a Good Faith Estimate from this practice, contact Dr. Edith Garcia at (323) 426-5987 or contact@dredithgarciapsyd.com.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may be charged the full session fee of $250.

If you have not joined the session within fifteen (15) minutes of the scheduled start time, the session may be considered a missed appointment and may be subject to the full session fee.

Please note: Insurance generally does not reimburse late cancellation or missed appointment fees, and clients are financially responsible for these charges.
